Third Street completes renovations to Shelby Health and Wellness Center
After a complete overhaul of its interior, the Shelby Health and Wellness Center recently re-opened its doors to patients in the city’s downtown. Third Street’s investment in its Shelby center was inspired by several things, including data-driven evidence of the need to offer services in the city.
Boo, therapy dog born on Halloween, offers stress relief at community health fair
Richland Public Health held its first community health day Friday, creating a pop-up hub of resources on the lawn in front of its 555 Lexington Avenue location. Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Avita Health Systems, RPH, and Third Street Family Health services were on hand to provide resources and low cost health care. Boo, the therapy dog offered the kind of treatment you can’t bottle or prescribe.
South Park Mother’s Day event to help those battling addiction
Third Street Family Health Services hosted a Mother’s Day Craft & Resources Fair to help people struggling with addiction. Proceeds from the event benefited Third Street’s Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, which helped provide medication-assisted therapy to patients suffering from substance use disorders. The Mother’s Day Craft & Resources Fair was free to attend and open to the public.
Mansfield healthcare center hosts free holiday party Dec. 14 celebrating sobriety
For the fifth year, Third Street Family Health Services provided a safe and supportive celebration for the community. This family-friendly event is free and open to people in the community who have been impacted by substance use disorder. There are activities for children and adults, photos with Santa, a holiday dinner, live music, giveaways, and encouraging stories of recovery.
Third St. Family Health Services provides free care to veterans on Nov. 9
Third Street Family Health Services recognized local veterans by providing them with a day of free health and dental care. In honor of Veterans Day, the network of non-profit community health centers hosted its Operation Heal Our Vets event for a second year. This annual event was made possible with the help of contributions from community supporters.

Third Street Family Health Services Opens New In-House Pharmacy
Third Street Family Health Services held a ceremony earlier this week to commemorate the opening of their new in-house pharmacy. Third Street staff members will operate the pharmacy, talk with patients and insurance companies, and help people through the process of getting their medications.
Law enforcement, social services to learn more about mental healthcare on Oct. 12
The committee hosted public services agencies from the tri-county area. Guests included members from all areas of public services, criminal justice, mental health, domestic violence, and children’s services. Several mental healthcare professionals presented information that is new in treatment fields and helped service agencies deepen their understanding of the community’s needs.
Malabar Intermediate School, Shelby City Schools to benefit from healthcare providers partnerships
Malabar Intermediate School and Shelby City Schools will be among the beneficiaries of partnerships announced Friday by Gov. Mike DeWine between healthcare providers and schools. “These partnerships between healthcare providers and schools supports the whole child and ensures that every child may realize their full potential.” Locally, $772,464.81 is earmarked for the partnership between Malabar Intermediate Schools and Third Street Family Health Services.
Third Street Family Health Services offers its first-ever block party
The block party was being held to recognize National Health Center Week, from Aug. 8-14. It is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America's health centers over the past five decades. For parents, vendors offered free backpacks and shoes to help with back-to-school needs.

A partnership between Third Street Family Health Services and the Mansfield City Schools is celebrating its 3rd Anniversary. Malabar Care Connect, a community health clinic, operates directly out of Malabar Intermediate School.
'We all know someone:' Third Street offers public sobriety event at South Park
The Third Street Family Health Services offered a free outdoor sobriety event Wednesday evening at South Park.
"This is our first summer event. It's not just for teenagers or younger adults, it's just for people," said Rachel Evans, the MAT (medication-assisted treatment) coordinator at Third Street and one of the event organizers.
