Emergency Information

What to do in case of an emergency

Call your doctor before you go tothe Emergency Room unless it is a true emergency. A true emergency is considered a sudden start of illness that could end in serious injury or harm if you do not see a doctor immediately.

If you experience ANY of the following symptoms, you should go to the emergency room

  • Chest pain or severe shortness of breath
  • Severe abdominal pain, coughing or vomiting blood
  • Deep cut of bleeding that won't stop
  • Sudden blurred vision, dizziness, weakness, or loss of balance/counsciousness
  • Seizures, any condition that is life threatening
  • Broken bones

*Urgent care offices can provide care for minor and stable conditions that do not require intense or multiple resources for treatment including animal bites, sprains/strains, stitches, and x-rays.

If you have non-emergent concerns after hours, please call any of our medical offices for advice. If you have non-emergent concerns for OB/GYN please call our Cornerstone office at 419-522-2800 for advice.

We have the ability to provide Emergency Crisis Intervention, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service receives more than 500 emergency calls a year; and most of these cases are individuals who present a serious danger to self or others. In case of an emergency, individuals will receive treatment regardless of their personal ability to pay.

This is made possible through your continued support of the ADAMH levy, a primary resource to our services. For their part, ADAMH of Crawford & Marion Counties encourages the development of comprehensive, yet cost-effective, mental-health and substance abuse services in our area, and works to ensure that these services meet the highest standards of care.
