Volunteer With Third Street
We’re excited to launch our volunteer program and invite community members to get involved with Third Street Family Health Services. Volunteers play an important role in supporting community events, outreach activities, and health education efforts across our service area in Richland, Ashland, Crawford, and Marion Counties.
Whether you’re looking to give back, gain experience, or support healthier communities, volunteering with Third Street is a great way to make a meaningful impact—no clinical background required. As our program grows, so will volunteer opportunities.
Who can volunteer with Third Street?
We welcome community members who are passionate about supporting health, wellness, and outreach in our service area. Volunteer roles are open to adults and may vary based on program needs, availability, and screening requirements.
What types of volunteer opportunities are available?
Volunteer roles may include:
- Supporting community events and health fairs
- Outreach and education activities
- Patient experience and navigation support
- Administrative and behind-the-scenes help
- Limited clinical support roles (credentialing required)

Do I need a healthcare background?
No. Many volunteer roles are non-clinical and focused on outreach, education, and community engagement. Clinical volunteer roles are available only for individuals who meet credentialing and compliance requirements.
What is the time commitment?
Most opportunities are flexible and event-based. Volunteers can choose opportunities that fit their schedule, availability, and interests.
What is required to become a volunteer?
All volunteers must:
- Complete a volunteer application
- Pass a background screening
- Complete a volunteer orientation with Human Resources
- Agree to follow Third Street policies, confidentiality standards, and the Volunteer Code of Conduct
Some roles may have additional requirements.
Are volunteers required to follow confidentiality and safety rules?
Yes. Volunteers are expected to protect patient and organizational confidentiality, follow safety and infection control guidelines, and act professionally at all times.
Will I receive training?
Yes. All volunteers receive orientation and role-specific guidance to ensure they feel prepared, supported, and successful.
Can volunteering lead to employment?
Volunteering does not guarantee employment, but it can be a great way to gain experience, learn about community healthcare, and connect with our team.
